Mrs. Walter Dolley, death notice

Mrs, Helen King Marshall Dolly, 72, wife of Walter Dolley of Alfred, died Friday at her home.  Mrs. Dolley was born at Buxton, July 18, 1878, daughter of Joel and Ellen B. Meserve Marshall.

A graduate of Gorham Normal School in 1896, Mrs. Dolley studied music in Portland and Boston and for 13 years taught public school music at Old Orchard Beach, Kennebunk, Saco, Biddeford, Limerick, Waterboro and Alfred, retiring four years ago.  She was a member of the Rossini Club of Portland and the Maine Federation of Music Clubs.  Prior to coming to Alfred two years ago, Mrs. Dolley had lived in Limerick 23 years.

Surviving besides her husband are a niece, Mrs. Robert S. Whitney of Nashua, N.H., and a nephew, Sumner B. Marshall, Alfred.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hurd Funeral Home, Sanford, the Rev. Charles L. Stevens of Phippsburg officiating.  The body will be placed in the receiving vault at the Buxton Lower Corner Cemetery, with burial in the Spring.
